We have released a new version of the TeamSpeak 2 Server. Version 184.108.40.206 contains numerous security patches, including a hotfix which patches a recently discovered exploit which could allow an attacker to read files on the local hard disk where the TeamSpeak server is installed. We urge you to update your server binary files as quickly as possible. Downloads are available from our Downloads page.
In most cases if you are using a recent version of the server, you will only need to download and replace the "Updated Executable" for your relative operating system. However, a full distribution package for 220.127.116.11 is also available.
Fellow TeamSpeak community, we are proud to announce that we have acquired the TeamSpeak.com domain, and in due time we will be migrating everything from GoTeamSpeak.com to TeamSpeak.com. In addition, a new website is soon to follow which will introduce and formally announce our upcoming, next generation product TeamSpeak 3.
We are very excited about what we have in store to accomplish and reveal to you in the near future, and we thank you for continuing to make TeamSpeak your VoIP product of choice. Please stay tuned to our website, update your bookmarks, and let us be the first to welcome you to TeamSpeak.com.
If you participate in our forums, you may have recently received an email asking you to download a "patch.exe" file. Please do NOT download or execute this file.
The phony email contained the following text:
Now you can download new Team Speak patch. It will help you to use our
Team Speak servers.
We advise you to download it now
Recently a security exploit on our website allowed an intruder to send a mass-email to all registered forums users, informing them of a supposed patch for TeamSpeak. This email was FAKE and MALICIOUS in nature. We have been working around the clock to address this issue and as of this moment it is now RESOLVED. Please keep in mind we take these matters very seriously and are always doing everything we possibly can to ensure that your visit to our website is safe and secure.
Please visit this forum for more information on this topic.
