Progress, Tips, and Other News

Greetings all TeamSpeak communities.

We are very hard at work with new builds and bug fixes, largely based on your testing and feedback. We appreciate more than ever your participation in continuing to make TeamSpeak 3 a solid product. Many of you have asked "when will the TS3 beta be over?" The short answer is, "when we feel TeamSpeak 3 is ready and no major bug fixes nor milestones remain." That said, however, we can assure you we will not be in beta forever...and probably no later than sometime Q2 of 2010, open beta will come to a close and TeamSpeak 3.0 Final will be released. Of course ongoing development, improvements, etc. will still continue well after Final.

In particular, we greatly appreciate the participation and feedback from hosters (ATHP and non-profits alike) who have helped us debug and further test the TeamSpeak 3 server. We know how challenging it can be at times to be on the support and technical side of things, as opposed to just the end user or client side. That being said, we also know many of you still have questions particularly with regard to server setup, tokens, permissions, and how to use the query port.

Server Setup, Tokens, Permissions, and Query Guides
Some of you may have overlooked the fact that documentation exists in the /doc folder of any server installation specifically with regard to each of these areas. So, we have decided to also publish the same information on our Literature page where you will find:

TeamSpeak 3 Server Quick Start.txt

TeamSpeak 3 Token Guide.txt

TeamSpeak 3 Permissions Guide.txt

TeamSpeak 3 Server Query Manual.pdf

Twitter/Facebook, and TS3 Customization
We also re-invite you to participate on either or both our Twitter and Facebook presence. Brief news spurts, tips, or general information is often more frequently updated there than in our global news area here. Also, let us remind you that our TeamSpeak 3 Customization forums are rapidly growing and we are very excited about the ongoing community participation. Want to change your icon set, sounds, or make the Client look like one of your favorite online games? Try visiting these forums and see for yourself what all the excitement is about.

Dev Blogs
For our technical communities, we also know that you are wondering what happened to publishing new Dev Blog updates lately. In short, the dev team is *very busy* and it is difficult to find time to post quality, new dev blog information. So we're proposing something new going forward. Florence, our Director of Sales, will be extracting information based on his direct communication with the dev team and at a minimum, we will be publishing new dev blog information at least once per month. You can expect the first new dev blog to arrive this month.

New Client and Server Releases
Last but not least, we have new releases as follows:

Client beta13 - Release Notes

Server beta17 - Release Notes

Please continue to upgrade your software as frequently as possible...and as a reminder, if you are still using a Client OLDER THAN beta9, you will need to manually upgrade. Beginning with beta9 and going forward, auto-updates for the Client are available by simply launching the Client application which automatically checks for updates.

Once again we thank you for your continued feedback and support. We are very excited about what we have in store for TeamSpeak 3 this year. Thank you all.

- TeamSpeak Team

Best Wishes for 2010 New Year!

Greetings fellow TeamSpeak communities and Happy New Year! We want to wish you the best in 2010 and once again thank you for your continued support. We are particularly grateful for your ongoing patience, interest, and contributions to TeamSpeak 3. It has been a long awaited journey for everyone involved and we are thrilled to see the immediate interest and growth in our user base and especially community-driven skins, addons, language packs, and plugins submitted in our forums.

We would like to remind you:

As of this moment the latest TeamSpeak 3 Client is BETA9 and Server is BETA12.

Beginning with Beta9, the auto-update feature is now enabled. You can launch an auto-update of your TeamSpeak 3 Client by choosing Help > Check for Update but again, you must first already be running at least Beta9.

We have noticed that many of you are still using Beta1 and thus will not be able to take advantage of bug fixes and new features such as auto-update. Please visit our Downloads page as often as possible and be sure to update your TeamSpeak 3 client and server software.

Don't forget to visit our TeamSpeak 3 Customization forums to download the latest and hottest skins, addons, language packs, and plugins. Among other things, numerous users have already created language packs and great looking skins for many popular gaming titles.

Once again...

Not sure which version of the TeamSpeak 3 Client you're running?
Launch TeamSpeak and choose Help > About.

Can't use auto-update because you're not on TeamSpeak 3 Client Beta9 yet?
You will have to download and install the client manually one last time from our Downloads page and then you can use the auto-update feature thereafter.
We are excited for what's in store for TeamSpeak 3 in the coming new year and hope that you will continue to be a part of our community's growth in 2010 and beyond.

Thank you and best wishes.

TeamSpeak 3 Open Beta Has Begun!
Season's Greetings to all our fellow TeamSpeak communities! The wait is finally over as we are pleased to announce that TeamSpeak 3 open beta has begun. All platform releases (Windows/Mac/Linux) for the TeamSpeak 3 Client and Server can now be found on our updated Downloads page.

A free evaluation of the TeamSpeak 3 SDK is also now available for download. This means you no longer have to apply to request an eval. The TeamSpeak 3 SDK server eval is limited to 1 virtual server and 32 slots and requires Internet access. If your integration project contains special needs (eg - private military or private LAN enviornment) please contact for assistance.

Please also keep in mind that the TeamSpeak 3 SDK is designed for integrating TeamSpeak voice comms technology into an existing product or service. Developers who are interested in scripting, automation, writing plugins which pertain to the TeamSpeak 3 Client and Server, etc. should NOT need to download the TeamSpeak 3 SDK. Instead, these developers should focus their attention toward TeamSpeak 3 Server query documentation as well as our new TeamSpeak 3 Plugin SDK which is also located on our Downloads page.

Last but certainly not least, a special thank you goes out to everyone involved in the closed alpha and beta testing phases, as well as all pre-release ATHPs and hosters, and anyone else that has assisted us in making TeamSpeak 3 a reality. A sincere and humble THANK YOU to all of you.

We look forward to your feedback and we wish you the best for the 2010 New Year.

Thank you.

We are thrilled to see the growing interest in hosting companies planning on supporting TeamSpeak 3 and are therefore pleased to announce the commencement of our application process for the TeamSpeak 3 pre-release program. This program is designed to provide existing ATHPs (Authorized TeamSpeak Host Providers) in good standing and other selected hosting companies which do not currently offer TeamSpeak hosting the opportunity to obtain a pre-release version of the TeamSpeak 3 server on or around December 1st 2009 for testing and preparation purposes.

These companies should receive an email TODAY with detailed instructions on applying for the pre-release program. If you are an existing ATHP in good standing and did not receive the email, or if you are a hosting company not currently offering TeamSpeak, please contact us at athps@tritoncia.com for assistance.

In addition, we are also pleased to announce that we have just published a new podcast specifically for TeamSpeak 3 ATHPs. The podcast includes details on new ATHP-specific features, how to participate in our pre-release program, and new website features and licensing information.

Best wishes and thank you.

TeamSpeak 3 Open Beta Announced!

We are pleased to announce OPEN BETA TESTING of the TeamSpeak 3 client and server will commence:

SATURDAY DEC 19th, 2009

13:37 CET (Central European Time)

07:37 EST (Eastern Standard Time)

Both the TeamSpeak 3 Client and Server will be available for download and testing on the following platforms:

Windows (32bit and 64bit)

Mac OS X (Intel and PPC)

Linux (32bit and 64bit)

We have received numerous queries regarding whether TeamSpeak 3 will be compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 and in short, both client and server WILL be compatible with these operating systems.

On this date, we expect to approve at least several large Authorized TeamSpeak Host Providers (ATHPs) so users will also have the ability to rent a professionally hosted TeamSpeak 3 server. In addition, we will be offering a limited number of slots/connections available on our TeamSpeak 3 public test servers. However, if you are technically savvy enough to host your own server you will of course also have the opportunity to do so.

Existing TeamSpeak 2 ATHPs will be contacted in the coming weeks with further details on how to become a TeamSpeak 3 ATHP. Established hosting companies who are not currently offering TeamSpeak hosting will also have the opportunity to apply to become a TeamSpeak 3 ATHP ahead of time as well. We will also be coordinating from among our top, established TeamSpeak 2 ATHPs in good standing, the release of the TeamSpeak 3 server PRIOR to the open beta date above to allow time for testing, writing provisioning scripts, planning migrations, etc.

As usual, stay tuned to our site for updates and details!
